Not sure what will be up for January. Most likely a landspeeder to complete the unit and a venerable dreadnought but we'll see how much time I have to paint next month.

December Vow Completed!
So a light month this month. I only vowed an Attack Bike and I've been pushed to finish it due to the amount of things that need doing this month. Completed photos below:

November Vow completed...
Finally finished up the last terminator for the squad for November.. I even managed to get decals on the shoulders of all models and I think they look pretty good! Squad picture:

Couple of the terminators:

Sergeant (not 100% happy with the sword on this one.. it might get re-done to match the other sergeant...) :

Cyclone launcher terminator:

November Chaplain completed!
So I've managed to finish off the chaplain and 4 of 5 terminators. I'll post up the terminators later once I have them all completed and photos have been taken.. The only aspect of the chaplain that I'm not 100% happy with is the skin on the face. I really struggle to paint flesh and have little to no talent for it..

November Oath - WIP

November Oath
The November Oath for the Path to Redemption has now been decided. I'll paint up a Chaplain on a bike for my Ravenwing and another squad of terminators. This one will have a cyclone missile launcher and a chainfist as well as a banner on the sergeant so I've got something to pick at the details with.

October Vow - Completed...
After spending most of the weekend frantically tidying and squeezing friends in, I managed to make some time to complete the squad of terminators that go with the Land Raider from the previous post. So without much ado photos of said terminators:
Terminator with Lightning Claws:

Terminator with Thunderhammer & Storm Shield:

Terminator Sergeant with Chainfist. This wasn't originally my candidate for the sergeant until I double checked the codex and realised that I can't substitute a heavy flamer for the sergeant's storm bolter. D'oh!

Another Terminator with Lightning Claws:

Terminator with Heavy Flamer:

Finally, a quick couple of group shots of the unit:

Now to think about November's oath.. probably will do another unit of terminators and a land raider crusader..

October Vow - Half finished!
Finally finished the Land Raider. For some reason the detailing on tanks always takes me forever. What I thought would be an hour or two at most at the weekend turned into a progressive series of details and fix-ups from where I'd errantly put black paint or bone paint for about 4 or 5 hours. Nevertheless, along with an hour or so last night, the Land Raider is complete. I'm not sure about the lascannons, so please comment/feedback on bolterandchainsword.com with your thoughts.

October Vow - Work in Progress
Have been making good in-roads on this! So far the tank and all terminators have been base coated and painted with Rakarth Flesh and then washed down with Gryphonne Sepia wash and then drybrushed over the top to get the colour right. So far so good. A few WIP photos below of the terminators:

and lastly two of my Land Raider.

I figure that for November I'll do the same again and then leave myself with a Venerable Dreadnought or something small but meaty in December.

Path to Redemption - October vow.. Part 1
So with September behind me and my vow successfully completed (see below for pictures) I've decided to paint up a unit of Deathwing Terminators and finish off the Land Raider I've started for my October vow. I figure by working on reasonable targets I'll get through the painting challenge over the course of the next 5 months.
December will be the toughest month as I'm away mid-month through to January, so attempting something achievable will be the key. Likely I'll just put together another Deathwing unit as they are relatively simple to put together and I seem to be able to churn them out pretty quickly and to good standard.

Path to Redemption - September Vow - Part 2
I was further ahead than I thought at the weekend and I managed to finish off my Sammael, Master of the Ravenwing. I'm happy with the detail that I managed to get on the book on the front of the jetbike, but I'm not happy with the gold on some of the medals and the iron halo medallion. A lot of this comes down to the finecast model being not so great with them, everything else has been pretty good though. Pictures are below!

Old Photos of Models - Blood Angels - Part 6
Part 6...
Venerable Dreadnought, the scroll work hides the defect in the metal model :

A pair of Blood Angel Veterans - I would replace these with Sternguard/vanguard veteran models or some of the newer Sanguinary Guard models:

Vindicator, 1 of 3 from a Linebreaker Formation :

Whirlwind - 1 of 2 - both are painted to similar standard :
