Path to Redemption - September Vow - Part 2

I was further ahead than I thought at the weekend and I managed to finish off my Sammael, Master of the Ravenwing. I'm happy with the detail that I managed to get on the book on the front of the jetbike, but I'm not happy with the gold on some of the medals and the iron halo medallion. A lot of this comes down to the finecast model being not so great with them, everything else has been pretty good though. Pictures are below!

And lastly a few full photo shots of all the models laid out on my old table :

Venerable Dreadnought, the scroll work hides the defect in the metal model :

A pair of Blood Angel Veterans - I would replace these with Sternguard/vanguard veteran models or some of the newer Sanguinary Guard models:

Vindicator, 1 of 3 from a Linebreaker Formation :

Whirlwind - 1 of 2 - both are painted to similar standard :

Just realised since I removed the lightbox photostream app on the sidebar, the existing photos of my Blood Angels are no longer visible. Retrospectively I'd repaint a lot of these, however, I do enjoy the old paint scheme that I've used. So I've hosted them separately and they are below:

Path to Redemption - September Vow - Part 1

The Path to Redemption continues... I vowed for September to have my Sammael, Master of the Ravenwing completed. So far progress has been steady but good. Firstly, I must learn to control the zoom a little better on the camera as these are way too close. I should be finished in time for the end of the month. If I were to ever put this model together again, I would paint it in pieces as I'm having a lot of trouble getting to the chest logos and details at the moment. I've replaced the sword with the sword from the metal model as the finecast one just snapped off and into pieces..

Long break in posting.. partially due to lack of desire to paint and due to house moving and a lot of American Football. However, with the release of the new paints and finding a bunch of Ravenwing sprues in the attic I've rekindled my joy of painting.. I'm currently working through 2 project armies. The first being a complete Ravenwing Company and I'm progressing with that, the change up from painting a lot of black is a complete Deathwing Company. Both are proceeding pretty well and I have entered into a painting competition on Bolter & Chainsword. So far it's all looking like this:

And a smaller close up of the Terminators:

For the September Oath, I've agreed to finish my Sammael, Master of the Ravenwing, that should be doable given I have a week away from the paint tray. Pictures posted when completed!
